Letter From The Principal:

Hello and welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  The Valley Center Intermediate School staff is ready to bring new learning, new challenges and new opportunities to our students. Our goal is to provide students with a well-rounded education and teach our students to be the leaders and dreamers of tomorrow.

I would like to take this opportunity to share a little bit of information about Valley Center Intermediate School. Valley Center Intermediate School is in its 7th year of existence and was created as a result of the school bond that was passed in 2008. The Intermediate School experience is a “bridge” that connects the elementary setting and the secondary setting. Students will find a number of familiar experiences, such as a homeroom and classes with familiar students. They will also find a number of new experiences, such as using a locker and switching classes.

However, the number one goal of the staff at the Intermediate School is to build relationships with our students and really show them we care.  As I learned early in my career, students are not always going to remember everything we teach them, but they are going to remember how we made them feel. While we want to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and setting high standards, we also want students to know that they’re safe and we’re happy they are here.

As the school year progresses, I encourage you to get to know your child’s teachers and connect with them regarding your student’s education. Take the time to talk with your children about their schooling.  Communication is the key to a successful experience for your student and staying connected to the classroom will help make the 2017-2018 school year great.  If you ever have any questions regarding the Intermediate School, please feel free to contact us via phone or e-mail.  Have a great year!!
